Round Two!
We had so much fun with the Baba Yaga Hut Challenge that we want to introduce a new challenge in 2025. This year will be a Cryptid Challenge!
The Challenge
Create an original cryptid creature. This means something that’s never been seen before (no Sasquatch, Moth Man, etc). You can create this crytpid using the medium of your choice such as a sketch, painting, sculpture, puppet, costume, whatever! Please no AI.
In addition to your art piece, you must also provide a backstory and ecological information for a cryptid: its habitat, range, diet, sightings, etc. Funny or serious, imagine your piece as it would appear in a natural sciences museum!
The Rules
Create an original design of your own cryptid in whatever medium you choose.
Digital work is acceptable, but please no AI.
Write at least a two-paragraph description and backstory for your creature. Feel free to write a book if you want. But Two paragraphs is the minimum.
